Collection: Queers for Palestine

Designed by Sami Shahin (Palestinian/Syrian)

Artist statement:

“Since October 2023, I’ve witnessed how queer Palestinian identity has been exploited to justify violence against all Palestinians—the image of an IDF soldier raising a pride flag over the ruins of Gaza remains burned into my mind. We were told Gaza isn’t safe for queer people, so bombing everyone there was somehow justified. Hearing queer voices repeat those lies deepened the harm.

Queers for Palestine celebrates queer resilience and ties it to the struggle for a free Palestine, while firmly rejecting pinkwashing—the use of LGBTQ+ rights to mask or excuse oppression. When oppression destroys one community, it endangers all marginalized communities. Liberation is interconnected: the fight for queer rights cannot be separated from the fight against colonialism and injustice, from Turtle Island to Palestine.”
